Did someone say it’s time to bust out the Christmas decor?? Hopefully you all are ready, because we just finished decorating our first tree of the season today! Lately, I have been taking a ton of inspiration from all things mid-mod for the house, and a tinsel tree is a definite must-have. I’ve always wanted one since it has such an iconic look and is a bit easier to decorate than a normal tree, so when I recently saw that Treetopia had created this new 6ft one, I knew I HAD to have it! We’ve been searching for the best vintage-inspired ornaments to decorate it with and I’m so excited to share our mod set-up with you all today!
We have been using Treetopia trees ever since I started this blog (shout-out to my very first pink tree!) and I’m so excited to be working with them to show you some different, non-traditional ways to do Holiday decor. Hope you like what we dreamed up and stay tuned for our living room decor with a very groovy 60’s tree in a few weeks! And pssttt, this mighttt be a sneak peek at our closet!!!
We picked out ornaments that had a vintage look to them, and as an added bonus, none of these ornaments are actually vintage, which means you all can buy them for your trees as well! One of my favorite touches are the left over pieces of fringe from the tree skirt that we hung on the tree branches with ornament hooks! It was such an easy trick and added a pop of color to the whole set up! There’s a complete source list for all of our decor below, sooo happy holiday shopping.
One of the best parts, at least in my opinion, of using a tinsel tree is that it is so easy to set up and take down. No hassle of multiple sections, no filling in gaps, and best of all, none of your ornaments end up hidden by bigger branches! Every one of your ornaments get to shine!
So what do you think? Are you in the holiday mood yet? How many of you have already busted out the decorations? I can’t wait to get a few more vintage pieces and start transforming our house into the ultimate mid-mod holiday home! And if you’re ready for more great holiday content, then stay tuned, because this is just the beginning!! P.S. make sure to check out all of the other blogs (below) participating in the Treetopia Design Council this year!
