Aww Sam Studio: Rainbow Kitchen Reveal!

IT’S KITCHEN REVEAL DAY!!!!! I have never in my life had a kitchen that I’ve actually loved working in (we’ve only ever been in rental apartments), so I can’t even believe this kitchen is real and that we created the whole thing! Since this is our studio kitchen and not our actual apartment kitchen, we wanted to go a little crazy and paint the floors rainbow, and I’m SO glad we did. The rainbow floor has quickly become my favorite part of this space, and not to mention it’s perfect for shoe selfies. Ha! Some of you might know this already, but I actually majored in Industrial Design, so I’m pretty good with power tools and any kind of furniture building. When it came to the kitchen, I didn’t want to hire a contractor and I had never installed a kitchen before, so it’s safe to say there was a bittt of a learning curve for me cutting and installing a countertop, BUT we’re here now and everything is done!!!

We linked to everything below, so if there’s anything you see here that you want for your own space, all you have to do is check the sources list! Some of my favorite parts of this kitchen are all of the little details in it. We bought a lot of things including the cabinets and counter from Ikea, so we tried to “hack” them in any way we could. We painted the hanging planters and the cabinet pulls, and cut out vinyl sticker patterns to cover the planters. I can’t wait until we can open our doors for all of you to come visit, and we’d love to hear what your favorite part of the kitchen is! Mine is quite obviously the rainbow floor! Ha! Get ready for a color explosion because this is one space that isn’t lacking in bright colors!

I hope you all enjoyed our little kitchen tour!!! It’s easily the happiest place in our studio now. Next up we’ll be working on the craft area, complete with a giant pegboard and our craft supplies all lined up nicely. Our craft area has always been the same table that we eat lunch on, so you could say we’re adjusting to this new space prettyyy nicely. Ha! Can’t wait to show you! And let us know in the comments what else you’d like to see in the space!! 🙂

  3. Oh and my life will not be complete without that giant slinky. Also love the Idea of painting the draw handles rainbow colours! That was a nice touch, would love to do that in my kitchen. It would be so cool if you did an ‘ikea hack’ blog post! You’re so talented.

  4. I love it all so much! The pink fridge with the blue microwave is my favorite. I also noticed lemonade fiLled glasses on the shelf, that was a cute touch. Nice work, I’d love to come if you open it up for a workshop.
