Rice Krispie Treat Ice Cream Cones

1-RiceKrispieIceCreamCone

If you’re a regular around here, you’ll know that we love to turn our favorite desserts into vessels to hold one of our other favorite desserts: ICE CREAM! I had an idea last week to make ice cream cones out of rice krispie treats, and since rice krispie treats are one of the easiest things to make, I knew this project would be perfect for a fun last-minute party idea. Plus, I don’t know if I’ve ever met anyone who didn’t like rice krispie treats, let alone funfetti rice krispies! And since I know there’s going to be at least one skeptic 😉 , yes these are completely hollow, so get that ice cream scoop ready!!!

supplies

6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
1 bag of marshmallows
3 tablespoons butter
Rainbow sprinkles
Cone roller (here)

how-to

1. In a large saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Add in the marshmallows and stir until they are completely melted.

2. Add in the rice krispies and as many rainbow sprinkles as you’d like and mix until combined.

3. Butter your hands and the cone roller and mold the rice krispies around the cone roller to form an ice cream cone shape. Once the cone roller is covered in rice krispies and you are happy with the shape of your ice cream cone, place everything in the refrigerator to harden for 5 minutes.

4. When the ice cream cone has hardened, remove the cone roller and repeat these steps with the remaining rice krispie marshmallow mixture to create additional cones. Top with ice cream and enjoy!
