Today’s post is a little different than what we normally post, but I thought it would be fun to give some of our vintage-inspired shoots a little more attention than just an Instagram post! I’ve lived in NYC for almost 10 years now and I’ve NEVER gone to the Brooklyn Botanic Garden to see the cherry blossoms, or have ever seen cherry blossoms anywhere for that matter. Crazy, right?! With all of the rain we’ve been getting, the cherry blossoms were insanely gorgeous this year, so we went and shot some photos as a last-minute, “things to do before we leave New York” kinda trip.
We only had 30 minutes to shoot in the blossoms before the garden closed, but it ended up being an advantage for us because almost everyone had already left! We have been trying to shoot photos that are a little more “inspirational” lately and Kyle knocked these out of the park! Full disclosure: I bought this vintage dress specifically for this photo, and I am absolutely dead at how it matches the blossoms perfectly (I know those aren’t cherry blossoms on the dress though haha). Sadly, cherry blossom season is pretty much over, but it’s just as worth it to go see the pink carpet they leave behind when they lose their blooms!
I’m half Japanese and have never been to Japan, but I hope to one day be able to see the cherry blossoms there! I’ve seen so many photos of the Sakura Festival online, and it looks so unreal and magical! Anyone have some plane tickets they want to forward over to me? 😉

I hope everyone is enjoying spring weather, and hopefully you got to see some cherry blossoms of your own! Let me know what you think of us doing more style/fashion posts like this! I always feel like we leave everything to be posted only on Instagram but the blog is such a good place to share photos that we might never post on IG!
