I finally got around to editing all of our photos from Vegas last week, so our (National Lampoon’s 😉 ) Vegas Vacation Guide is here!!! When we got back to New York it snowed immediately (the weather in NYC has been crazy lately), so it was so nice to get out of the office and enjoy some sunny weather for once. Ha! If you were following along on Instagram stories, you would have seen that we had a BLAST. Like, I seriously needed this vacation to clear my head. Seriously. Get ready for lots of colorful places and some incredibly good restuarants!! A huge thanks to my Insta friend Cyn (hotpinkpineapples) for the photo backdrop recommendations!
This is one of the places I was DYING to go to, so I was completely ready with a colorful outfit in tow. And let me say that these colorful mountains did NOT disappoint! They were so much cooler (and massive!) in person than I could have ever imagined. Plus, you have the perfect backdrop with the mountain landscape.
Outfit Details:
Pom Pom Earrings // Pom Pom Sweater (Asos last year) // Pink Dress (Topshop last year) // Balloon Animal Bag // Lilac Sandals (Asos last year) // Pink Sunglasses
I had only ever seen everyone’s gorgeous photos of this pink motel before (Instagram deception, am I right?!), but let me let you in on a little secret; this area of Vegas is very strange. Ha! It’s on the street with all of the wedding chapels and there’s a pink convertible parked around the corner, but I definitely wouldn’t come here alone if you are trying to get that photo op!
Outfit Details:
Pink Leather Jacket // Tassel Earrings // Pink Pleated Skirt // Silver Heels // Polka Dot Socks (& Other Stories) // Pink Sunglasses (Unique Vintage last year)
I’m SUCH a fan of the 50s, so stopping at Peggy Sue’s Diner was a must! Not pictured: across the street from the diner were about 30-40 military tanks, so that was definitely something you don’t see everyday. Ha! This place is incredibly cute though and great if you’re a fan of retro! It was also surprisingly crowded for being out in the middle of nowhere!

I hadn’t seen this place on Instagram as often as some of the other places we went to, so I wasn’t sure what to expect, but this is actually a huge sculpture in the middle of a park. It was one of the quieter, calmer places we went to since it was right next to the Science Center building. This would be the perfect place to bring a lunch and take some fun photos!
Outfit Details:
Pink Glitter Sunglasses // Pleated Top (Asos last year) // Pom Pom Necklace // Rainbow Skirt // Pineapple Bag (Skinnydip last year) // Lilac Sandals (Asos last year)
We came here to take a photo with the flamingo mural (hence the flamingo outfit), but it had sadly been painted over and a less attractive flamingo had taken its place. This pink and white wall is on the other side of the store though, so I still got to make use of my all pink outfit! The store itself was really cool too, with a lot of vintage furniture items and clothing.

This was another one that had been on my list for a while. I went to school for Industrial Design and have always been fascinated with old neon signs, so seeing a whole museum of neon signs from Vegas’ history was probably one of the highlights of our trip. We did a night tour, but there are day tours too. Just make sure you buy your ticket online in advance so it doesn’t sell out!
Kyle takes a lot of nature/sunset photos so we went to Red Rock Canyon to try to catch the sunset over the mountains. It was super chilly (so bring warm clothes!), but we were able to see some pretty crazy sunsets! The mountains looked so perfect it was almost like someone was holding a paper cutout of a mountain on the skyline.
This is where we stayed for the duration of our trip. Thanks to all of you for the recommendations, The Cosmopolitan won by an overwhelming amount of votes, and after staying there, I definitely know why. It was such a nice room and we had a tub with jets (for a New Yorker, that is pure luxury! Ha!). Plus a lot of places we wanted to eat at were right in our hotel!
I’ve been to the New York location a few times, but I knew that the Vegas location was fancier (and who doesn’t like fancy?!). I had the pork ramen, and David Chang was the chef for the night so I like to think that he possibly made my ramen. It was delicious and had different options than the NYC location so I would definitely go again!
I’ve heard so many amazing things from my LA friends about this place, so I was really excited when I found out this one was right in our hotel. I had the Slut, which was a soft egg and mashed potatoes. I’m a HUGE fan of eggs so I’d give it a 5/5, but Kyle (not a fan of eggs) didn’t like it as much. I’m totally going to the LA location next time I’m in LA though!
If you like barbecue and Southern food, then you’ll love Yardbird. I got a barbecue pulled pork sandwich and it was SO good! I’m going to Miami in the Summer, so I’ll be checking out that location too!
Milk is right in The Cosmopolitan too, so I got a cereal milk ice cream and ate it in the bathtub in our room (I know, luxury, right?!). Ha! This place is always a great dessert choice and the cookies are top notch too!

Had to include this last shot because it’s so ridiculous. My pose is a mix of prom and “I don’t know what’s going on.” You can tell I’m not good at group photos. Ha! I hope you enjoyed tagging along on this little adventure with us. Let me know if you have any other recommendations and we’ll check them out next time! Next stop: Paris…

A great read! I will have to check out some of these other places in Las Vegas. that’s too bad about the flamingo wall.
YOU’RE MAKING ME WANT TO GO TO VEGAS WITH YOU! YOU ARE SO CUTE, YOU AND KYLE ARE SO CUTE, AND ALL THESE PLACES ARE THE MOST FUN
Sam! Thanks so much for featuring our Pink Heart Tassel Earrings! You are such a babe and wear them so well! xox
I live in VEgas, and the smith center is one of my very favorite places in town! We have season tickets to the broadway series there so we get to go about once a month. and We did our family photos in front of that rainbow pipe sculpture too. anyway, I’m glad you made it over there. i would say it definitely isn’t as well known as some of the other spots. Your trips sounds like a lot of fun. I think i need a staycation at the cosmo. 🙂
OOOOh i loved this guide, but now you’ve already gotten me wanting more and wanting to see you two take on paris!!
